Ken Shea Posted July 12, 2023 Posted July 12, 2023 Just got notice, suddenly PayPal has put a hold on thousands of dollars with no sending or receiving money, essentially putting me out of business while they investigate if my products violate their policies. I knew this was coming, been warned for years, believed it but kept putting doing anything about it off.. Any one know if V4 is PCI compliant or can be made to be. I am not holding my breath on their continued processing my sales so am looking for alternatives. Sticky part in todays culture is products are firearm related, though no firearms or ammo. I'm open to all suggestions. Quote
♥Smoky Barnable Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Stripe or Square. I've removed PayPal last year because of their shady business practices and increased transaction fees. Not to mention zero seller protection and customers addresses that are not verified. Their "holding funds" policy is equivalent to giving them interest free loans. Don't look back. To have it PCI/DCC - you have to pass server test. osComemrce as such checked using TenTest People (our big client do that) and GitHub security on weekley basis. On other hand can you tell me what is your problem with products (may you write me in personal please?) as we have a lot of clients who selling such products and all fine. such as: https://www.doublealpha.biz/ , https://www.aa-store.ch/, https://www.tacstore.ch/ , https://www.pitchforksystems.ch/ , https://www.gunstore.ch/ , https://www.milstore.ch/ , https://www.outstore.ch/ etc..... jimdanforth Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Ive used paypal for 23 years and been satisfied. I have had them protect me a couple of time, and the 2% has been reasonable. I have heard of others complain, but I personally just have not had thos problems. It took a bit to get OSCommerce to comunicate the way I wanted but the OSWC team worked with paypal and we got it done. The holding funds was an issue very early on, but I havnet had that happen unless the customer did a chargeback in at least 15 years. Quote

Eric, Just tried SquareUp and they (after 30 minutes talking) said they have no static website checkout button feature, that is immensely hard to understand but is that your experience? Quote

Been using it not for that long but years, all good including the seller protection came through the one and only time needed, although fees are 3.9 + .30 per. on my end. They did restore the account last night so back in the game but will be looking for another payment processor in case there product policies become even more restrictive. Quote

Hi Vladyslav, Did look and those sites do not sell magazines, I do and if they had a capacity more then 10 rounds, or sold speed triggers, bump stocks etc there is about a 100% chance they would not have restored service. Webitbz Posted September 29, 2023 Posted September 29, 2023 For Europe I would suggest ViVa Wallet Smart Checkout. This plugin works with redirection/webhook. Besides card payments they offer many other different payment methods (depending on the merchants country). For more info visit Viva Wallet Quote
