Installation Fatal error Solution

When I tried to install 2.2 MS1 via the install page, I had received the following:

Step 2: osCommerce Configuration

The configuration was successful!

Seeing the

The configuration was successful!
part I tried to click the buttons to go to the catalog and the admin sections, but I then received the following:

Fatal error: Failed opening required 'includes/application_top.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/www/egregorepublishing.com/html/catalog/default.php on line 13

So I poked around on the boards for a while and found a post that addressed a similar problem, but not my exact issue. The post suggested to look at the error and find the directory that held the page that was giving the error and change that directory's permissions.

So I went to my "includes" directories in both the catalog and the admin section and set them to 755. I went back to my pages and everything was up and running.

I know that this solution probably has been answered many times, but since there are so many posts to this board---and it would take a year to find it---I figured that I would post my findings to help save some people some time and their sanity.

Sincerely,

Brad
