Guest Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Hi All, First, I want to thank everyone in this great community! Second, please review this site: www.jeremiahspick.com It was in the thread and it was mistakenly nocked off by the moderator. Review questions: 1. What other payment methods would you recommend, and why? 2. What should I add to gain higher search engines ranking? 3. Is the store reliable enough for people to actually buy? and how can I increase the hits-to-revenue conversion? Any comments, recommendations, and/or complements are more than welcome! you can also email me at: [email protected] Jeremiah's Pick Coffee Co. is a specialty coffee roaster based in San Francisco, California. It has a veriety of gourmet and organic coffees and sells through premium grocery stores nation-wide. Regards,
Guest Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 Great looking site Ron! ......its just so "caff".. can almost taste the coffee! 8) Sincere apologies to yourself, Jeremiah's Pick, and other forum members who posted to your previous thread. I have changed the review procedure that led to my unfortunate error  Regards, Matti
Guest Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 Hey Johnson, thanks for the complements. hey guys, feel free to post anything that comes on your mind, it helps me improve the site. have a great day!
Wizzud Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 Site looks good! You might find some of the comments here useful/useless/amusing/distasteful (delete as appropriate) ... http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...0744&highlight= Regards, Wizzud "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
Guest Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 Yes, it is all true. links are king. content is asset. The company (Jeremiah's Pick Coffee Co.) got an article describing its newest line of products: Java of Evolution in the TIME Magazine. and you can only imagine how much traffic we are getting out of it. However, my question is more focused: what to do in order to increase the traffic to sales ratio? There are many things to add on the basic osCommerce shopping cart configuration in order to achieve that. For example: registration should not be required in order to purchase. Small description when you list the items in the category (instead of simply the name). etc... but what else?
♥monte22 Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 There are a lot thing. -Have specials -Have fun stuff on the site so people stay longer (the longer they stay the more likely they are to buy something). -Lots of pictures. People love pictures. Like the pics of where Jerimiah goes, those are great. I would not recommend the purchase without account feature for I believe it is not what is says it is. Instead of actually having a customer purchase without an account, it simply creates an account for them without telling them. This makes it impossible for them to make any future orders because when they enter their email address it says they already have an account, (but they can't log in!)
Guest Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Oh wow, the contribution does not mention anything like that. Is there anything else that would allow a user to purchase without creating an account? thanks,
Guest Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 Lovely looking site, really woke me up! Instead of the buy without account, you could integrate create an account into the checkout process. I've just done this following the tips in this thread. Add shipping cost to the cart, tell customers how much more to spend for free shipping, perhaps a loyalty scheme to reward repeat purchases. Why can you not quote the cost for expedited shipping or international orders? Placing an international order by phone will deter a lot of impulse buyers - having to figure out international dialing codes, time differences, etc... Plus some people will feel that once they're rung for a shipping quote they be 'expected' to make an order. Make the images at the top into links & add some more products to the front page. hth
