Gift Certificate as a product?

Hello --

I am currently evaluating eCommerce packages. My client has gift certificates as a product. They want to visitor to be able to select a denomination, define a "to" name, a "from" name and a message.

Does osCommerce support this?

The Credit Class and GV contribution allows Gift Vouchers to be purchased (and discount codes to be used). Upon admin approval (or without approval, depending on settings) the users account is credited with the amount purchased. They may then send the amt to someone else (they need not be a registered member and it sends along an email with the info (to, from, amt).

I'm not sure if there is another way...there might be, check out the contributions.

The Gift Certificate actually *is* a product. When the company receives an order, it will have been for a gift certificate to be made out and mailed to them. It is not a Gift Certificate to be used in the store.

For complete clarity, see this link:

Thanks for your help,

You would need to custom code the information upload. This is certainly possible, just not something that you can enable through configuration.

Good luck,

Matt

YOu would enter them as items maybe under a gift certificate category - you can give them an option box that is text input so they can put who to make the gc out to.

You can also maybe link a page to select a card and envelope basic cross-sell products
