[email protected] Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 So, last month I started looking through the OsCommerce Docs and reached out via email a few times with no response.Okay, they said they would provide a 30-day trial of OsCommerce Hosting. In order to test out osCommerce, I need to build an ecommerce site with about 100 products. I was hoping this would all go smoothly and in a timely manner because we need to migrate our enterprise eCommerce site. Iwent through the sign up for the test hosting a count and / and / and nothing. No response, no instrunction , no nothing! A few later I submitted a ticket about the hosting. Now it has been 4 days since I sent that support ticket and no response. I guess it's really clear how oSCommerce hosting stacks up against the competition. They Don't Stand Up To The Competition.I could just see this mess now. Here is an example of my future, if I were to host with OsCommerce. The serverhas gone down ( and it sounds like they don't even give you root access ) Enterprise is down. Then 4 days later, it's still down and they haven't even answered the first ticket! The truth is, I really wanted to like OsCommerce and give it a fair chance, but it is simply not possible for me to do so. Almost 25 years since OsCommerce first was first released, I think. We shouldn't still be dealing with amateurs after almost 25 years! Quote
bonbec Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Hello, I'm not part of the OsCommerce team, I've just been a user for 17 years and haven't upgraded to the latest version yet. If I answer you, it is to bring to your attention this: The vast majority of the OsCommerce team is in Ukraine. They endure the war and do what they can depending on the bombardments and power cuts. I saw on the team page that there have been changes, I hope nothing serious has happened to the one that is no longer on the list. If you have any questions about how OsCommerce V4 works, feel free to ask them on the forum, other users are there to help you based on their knowledge and experience of the software. For your hosting concerns, I think the OsCommerce team will do the right thing as soon as they can. Quote with OsC 2.2 since 2006 ...
