Guest Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 Hi i use addaction for hosting and they selfinstall the script for me with the password i tell them and so after the self installer runs i try to access the admin page and the pop-up password thing comes up and my user and pass wont work?? Any suggestions my host is using the 2.2 CVS thanks
Guest Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 If they installed a basic 2.2 ver there is no protection for the admin. Ask them how they protect the admin folder ? The_Bear

So i have done the same and joined a hosting company with the same version installed however how do i get my admin password? do i have to email and ask them? or can i obtain this from a file via ftp? help would be grately appreciated
Guest Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 well to fix my problem the only thing i found so far was to remove the .htacess in the admin folder but im sure its accessible to everyone now :/ heres what my htaccess says AuthType Basic AuthName "osCommerce Administration" AuthUserFile /home/rackio/.htpasswds/shop/admin/passwd require valid-user that brings up a pop-up thing and i cant log in
