Tuan Le
Hi Guys, Can you please let me know if there is a way to hide a category from the main webstore? I do not want to disable the whole category, just hide it only so that it would still be accessible via a direct http URL but not visble from the store. What I am trying to do is create a "specials" hidden categtory on my webstore with products targetting specific group of people only. The prices on some of these products are sometimes below the minimum advertised price requirement from the manufacture so I can not leave it wide open to everyone that visit my store. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Tuan

Guest
There is no configuration option to do this. You will have to custom code a solution if you need it. Good luck, Matt
Wizzud
I'm sure it is possible, but I sounds like you might find this contribution worth investigating first ... natophonic
since it looks like a substantial modification, i posted a restatement/proposal in the contributions section: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=52712
TB
What about the Hidden Products contribution? http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1053 "The price of success is perseverance. The price of failure comes much cheaper."
natophonic
What about the Hidden Products contribution?http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1053 interesting in terms of seeing a clean, simple modification to product display functionality, but not really what i'm looking for. i need all products visible to all customers. for those products which have a manufacturer-imposed minimum advertised price (MAP), i need to initially display the MAP for that product, but then the lower, 'real' products.products_price when the user adds the product to their cart (or clicks an 'email me the lowest price' link). does that make sense? TB
Ahhh... I thought you were after a module to show the products to a select group of people... "The price of success is perseverance. The price of failure comes much cheaper."
