spin Posted July 6, 2003 Posted July 6, 2003 Just wondering if you can use OsCommerce to create recurring payments with paypal like subscriptions etc. ... If so how? This is a bit off-topic, but there is a way with certain Authorize.Net accounts to be able to bill recurrent transactions through the merchant interface. Some Authorize.Net accounts already have this capability, and some will be getting this capability soon. Additionally, certain Authorize.Net accounts have the capability to recurrently bill by way of an "Upload Transaction File" which is basically a file that contains the billing contact, credit card, exp. date, and other information needed to carry out a "batch" billing of sorts. This is a convenient way for merchants to bill on a weekly, monthly, semi-annual, annual, etc. basis. The merchant simply needs to maintain a single file (in most cases) that can be uploaded to their Authorize.Net merchant interface! It's pretty slick. Sorry this doesn't have much to do with PayPal, but I wanted this inforamtion out there so people know what options are available or for merchants looking for the same capabilities with non-PayPal merchant accounts. Good Luck, Daniel DTOM - mmm' k

This would not work if you use the Auth Mod already installed with OSC..... the CC# is not kept anywhere... Altho this would work with the generic CC mod and manual entry to Authorizenet Angela
spin Posted July 6, 2003 Posted July 6, 2003 This would not work if you use the Auth Mod already installed with OSC..... the CC# is not kept anywhere... One of the new and upcoming features for certain Authorize.Net accounts will be the addition of a recurring billing feature (re-billing) built into the Authorize.Net merchant interface ... so that part of the recurring billing can still be handled just fine once Authorize.Net has changd over to be fully CISP (Cardholder Information Security Program) compliant (probably in mid-July). The information in the upload transaction file for AuthNet merchants has to be maintained manually, with cc #'s assembled from the generic CC mod as you mentioned. Altho this would work with the generic CC mod and manual entry to Authorizenet In either case (through the merchant interface or through the manual upload transaction file process), there will be a re-billing option available soon to Authorize.Net merchants! :D DTOM - mmm' k
