Disappearing Configuration Values

I tried to edit the configuration values for my store from the

default values at:

http://fake_domain_here.com/admin/configur...x=configuration

 

but they seem to be disappearing after I change their values.

Further editing those values will still result in empty values.

What am I doing wrong here?

Looks like I am having the same problem with the guy who posted in

http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php...ighlight=update

Unfortunately, there wasn't a definite solution to fix it except to move

to another hosting provider. Please help! Thanks in advance.

Reading the other thread that you posted, it looks like that person's problem was that file uploading was turned off in the php.ini file. You need it to be turned on to upload images to create new products and categories.

 

Moving to a host that has it turned on in php.ini would work. However, you can also get your host to turn it on. I believe that it is possible to do so on a per directory basis with httpd.conf or .htaccess files.

I am just wondering though, why are the initial

values disappearing? If I can't upload, shouldn't

the original values not be overwritten with empty

values?

Looks like I can't even add products to my shopping cart for that

matter ;_;
