jnicolini Posted July 4, 2003 Posted July 4, 2003 Is there any version that works fine with PHP 4.1.1?
Guest Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 The problem is php updates that cause most problems, find a host, and go for it. There are many that have oscommerce already installed, then just make it fit your needs.
Daemonj Posted July 5, 2003 Posted July 5, 2003 Are you not able to update your version of PHP to the latest? I have not heard of any troubles with it on FreeBSD. jnicolini Posted July 7, 2003 Author Posted July 7, 2003 The problem is that my client has made a contract with the Provider, and they told me that there is no chance of update the PHP. Then I was trying to make this version to run on it, but without sucess.
Daemonj Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 You should advise your client to seek a new provider. To not update a web server's software is crazy specifically for security reasons. Everyday new holes are discovered and repaired and patches and updates/new versions need to be installed to keep up. Does this provider also not intend to update their Apache, OS, Perl, and other server software as well? If they will not do that, then you would be better off without this account than the trouble it will cause you in the long run. ;) "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds.
