wolter Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Hi there experts, We installed and launched oscommerce at www.naturalvision.nl. Most of the times connecting to the site is perfect without any errors. However, sometimes we?ve been getiing the following error: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (11) in /ourroot/naturalvision.nl/httpdocs/shop/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! Is there anyway I can fix this that you know of? Please advise.... Thanks, Wolter
Daemonj Posted July 3, 2003 Posted July 3, 2003 Submit a support ticket with your host letting them know that you are getting that error. Your host's support department will need to verify the configuration and operation of mysql is correct. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. wolter Posted July 3, 2003 Author Posted July 3, 2003 Thanks, but my host provider claims everything is working properly. Could it have had anything to do with the STORE_SESSIONS variable in both configure.php files? I just detected that one was set to mysql while the other was left empty. I haven?t got the error anymore. But then again, the errors appeared at random so there?s no telling whether it?s fixed now or not.

I believe that would certainly cause you some problems. :) "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds.
