Trying to Add Product Description to Product List ---Help :)

Hi.......I have been trying to make it so there is a description in the product list when people go through the products on my sit......I came across Description in Product List Contrib. I am having no luck with it......I add the files and then am trying to add the sql queries that are in the instructions and am getting errors in phpmyadmin......Is there an easier way to accomplish adding the fields i need to the product list when someone is searching???
