Hi Vinoth,

While adding/editing a category or subcategory you can add the menu image to it. Please see the screenshot below how to do it. It is also necessary to choose the builder in the menu widget and set up the menu level where to show this image.

Best regards,

Ivan

Hi Vinoth,

As far as we can see you tried to make this change on the demo website. Please note that it is impossible to make any changes on the demo website.

Best regards,

Hope all is well...

@Ivan Holbi I have images for the main categories and they are sizing correctly, I would like to add the Hero image under the category label and it all works except no matter what I upload the image as it stretches it and makes it way to big? How/what size doe they need to be and is there a way to make the only be so big?

Thanks in advance...

Hi Billy,

You can set up the image sizes in Settings > Image Settings. Please see the screenshot below.

So I thought so also...

I have it set to the following:

image.thumb.png.67bc9158404022b5a327bc16bef2f290.png

So it is set to 100x50 and I have uploaded an image that is also the same size 100x50 but it shows up like this:

It just keeps it to the max size of any screen that I am on???

Any ideas would be great!

Hi Billy,

For banners, Category hero and Brand hero images are stretched to all the available width. The dimensions in the settings are used for setting up the proportion between the width and the height. Also if you upload an image that is larger than specified in the settings it will be diminished to the max width and max height. If you need to limit the image according to its width and height it needs to be placed in the block with the limited dimensions.

Best regards,

Ivan

Ok,

But how do I set image per category? I use the gallery for the first category, then what/how do I setup sub-category images for each category with out using the Hero image?

Hi Billy,

There are 4 types of images for each category.

ScreenShot2024-01-31at19_32_23.thumb.png.c74f15e1507402e4daa81176aca5c4ef.png

Gallery image is the image that is displayed on the category, when it is the subcategory to a category, for example:

https://alextestlatest.oscommerce.host/furniture/furniture-catalog

ScreenShot2024-01-31at19_37_05.thumb.png.d3070b71ce5c7f90ad8cdd6f3b73d416.png

When you open the top category Furniture, each subcategory with its square image is displayed there.

Hero image is the large image that is displayed on the whole website width at the top over the products, when you open the corresponding category.

Homepage image is the square image that is displayed if a category is added to the home page.

Menu image is the image for the menu if the menu should display the images next to the category names (as a rule, small images are used).

So you need to upload the Gallery square images as the images for subcategories as described above.

Also you can upload the Hero images if you want to.

If you need the Hero image to be displayed as the small image (so it should not be stretched to the whole website width), in the product listing design you can divide the block, where the image widget is located, into 3 or 4 parts and place your image in one of these parts so it will cover 1/3 or 1/4 part of the whole website width only.

Best regards,

Ivan
