The latter is the difficult part. If you move to a non-V4 oscommerce shop you can use cart2cart to convert the database, though it is costly for very large databases. There used to be, and might still be, free conversion scripts so you may want to check that. If you are moving to V4 then you should contact the oscommerce owners to see if they can do it. Cart2cart may be able to but since V4 is new they may not know the structure of the database yet.
