I hate PayPal! What are the alternatives?

PayPal has decided to place a hold on some of my customers payments. One customer picked up his custom guitar Monday and held the payment for the balance that he made then. I have another customer that has been buying from me for years that placed his third order yesterday and they put a hold on it. He wouldn't have placed three orders if he was upset.
What are the best alternatives to PayPal? I don't really want to pay for a merchant account every month that's why PayPal has been convenient.

Would you consider stripe, for example? 

PayPal is very convenient though as customers may already have an account with them and payment process is easy. And they now have this buy now pay later feature.
