Ive just downloaded the new release and loaded the zip up into my public_html directory and ran the index installer file

it does the checks but says the folder is not writeable

I have tried setting a folder within the public_html to 777 and updated the folder to install but it doesnt change anything... am i missing something?

ive also tried using the server path in the form incase thats what its after but that didnt do anything either...
