pete2007
Hello, We are moving to a new server. I just wanted to know if we would still have access to the osc admin panel after we repoint the domain name to the new server? If not, what steps would need to be done to get access? Thank you in advance, Pete
Jack_mcs
If your admin has a popup login that was created by the control panel, or manually, then that will most likely fail since the path to the file it uses will change. In that case, just delete the .htaccess file in admin and create a new one with the control panel. Also, if the path to the files have changed then you will have to change the configure files. And if the username of the account has changed you will have to change the database credentials. pete2007 1 Quote Support Links: For Hire: Contact me for anything you need help with for your shop: upgrading, hosting, repairs, code written, etc. Get the latest versions of my addons Recommended SEO Addons

RobertDavies
So, if you're moving to a new server and repointing the domain name, you might lose access to the OSC admin panel temporarily. But don't worry, it's not too complicated to get it back. Once you've got everything set up on the new server, you'll need to update your domain name servers (DNS) to point to the new IP address. Once that's done, you should be able to access the admin panel again. If you're not sure how to do that, ishosting.com/en/vps/linux has some great resources for setting up and managing your VPS, including help with DNS. They've got some seriously killer options for hosting your site on a VPS, so you might want to check that out too.
