osCommerce-Official
Looking for contributors to the new osCommerce wiki. We need to create usable manuals, real-life "how to" instructions for merchants. We also need to create manuals for designers and developers. Please comment here to indicate your interest or contact us via the website. Thanks!
Antonio Garcia
I think that I will be able to translate to Spanish or help in the creation of these manuals. If you need my help, please, contact with me.

osCommerce-Official
https://wiki.oscommerce.com Is where we have currently existing manuals. More to be added shortly. Please ignore references to the old name of the system if you notice one in a Wiki page, these are being worked on. It is in the read-only mode at the moment, but community access will be enabled in the future. Gyakutsuki

rssreader
Does the system have its own product API for bulk import/update? If so, it would be good to document this procedure for the API as well.

It is possible to use the built in import / export feature (manual to be created by @Ivan Holbi), or the API https://wiki.oscommerce.com/index.php?title=Managing_API
rssreader
Soap is really bad. REST API is the only right solution. Yii2 is prepared for REST: https://www.yiiframework.com/doc/guide/2.0/en/rest-quick-start Edited December 16, 2021 by rssreader

ejsolutions
Have added a possible entry for modsecurity settings in the Talk section, as wiki is read-only. Hope that helps and can be included.

Ivan Holbi
Also we would not recommend to program an import with writing directly to the database.
rssreader
The documentation is very weak. How do REST server/client data sources work? Any basic example of how it works?

rssreader
Documentation is the basis. An ecommerce system without quality documentation for developers is useless. Reverse engineering takes too much time and time is money. Please be inspired, for example, here: https://docs.shopsys.com/en/9.1/ or https://docs.sylius.com/en/latest/. This is documentation. rssreader
Any progress? Does the system include a basic example of using an API (import a pair of products and categories from external source/API/XML) or will it be added to WIKI? Connection to external systems is a must-have thing for a quick start of the e-shop... Edited June 23, 2022 by rssreader
