Multiple Sales Channels

Recommended Posts

One of the core features of osCommerce v4 is support for multiple sales channels, including support for Multiple front ends

Sales channels can be of three types - web, virtual, and marketplace.

Web sales channels are effectively multiple front ends. Each one can have its own URL (domain, sub-domain, etc), design template, product range, payment and shipping method, content, banners, and many many more..

Virtual sales channels are used to track affiliate sales and to allow sale agents to track their sales better and more transparently.

Marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, CDiscount, and similar can be integrated with osCommerce to help list products and process orders automatically. osCommerce v4 will come pre-integrated with the marketplaces however additional app or add-on will be required to enable this functionality.

Effectively with osCommerce v4 it is possible to successfully manage several businesses from the same back end, and efficiently process orders and support customers.

Any chance of integration with the likes of Etsy?

Good question! We do not have it available yet, in any capacity, but it will be either created by osCommerce or could be created by the development partners and made available in the App store - we are going to be working hard to ensure the App store (or Add-ons store - to be confirmed) has plenty of cool solutions in it, and allows businesses and developers to work together.

If we have different configurable front-ends,
We can use it for commercial agents or B2B sales? for example

For commercial agents you can set up "virtual" front ends. And yes it should be possible to link B2B customer group to a particular front end.

When you say additional apps or add-ons will be needed to enable Ebay and Amazon integration, will you be creating these add-ons?

We have integrations for Amazon and eBay available already, but need to "wrap" them as apps
