shipping modules won't show up in admin

Hi y'all. I'm running TEP 2.1 (I know I need to upgrade, but I was pretty far into this store before I found out that there was a new version) and I'm trying to install some better shipping modules since the "factory" mods seem to be lacking a lot, like different options with UPS. So I downloaded some new mods and simply replaced the old files with the new ones just to see if it would work. The first problem is that they don't show up in the admin tool for shipping modules to install or uninstall.

 

Previously, I had only the old "flat.php" installed. When I tried to load the checkout_payment page, I got an error that said it can't redefine the ups class. So I went to the admin and uninstalled flat, and then nothing showed up under shipping options. I reinstalled flat, with ups still not showing up in the admin, and now the only shipping option I have when I check out is flat.

 

This causes a couple questions.

1) Why doesn't the new ups shipping module show up in the shipping admin?

 

2) Are there any mods I can download that will give me multiple shipping options for the version of TEP that I have?

 

3) The store owner isn't really shipping anything out. We only need a shipping mod to get a price, because the orders are sent to the manufacturer and they ship the product. Does this make a difference in what I might need?
