shatan Posted June 30, 2003 Posted June 30, 2003 i have a client with the following wishes. he has 3 firms with different categories and sub-categories and many products in any categorie. So he wants me to build a shop with the option to chose one of the three firms. Then he asks me to show only the categories and sub-categories of this firm, but the search-engine has to search in any categorie of any firm. also it has to be possible, to change the firm anytime. sorry for this terrible english. :oops: i hope someone can understand my problem and can help me.
Guest Posted June 30, 2003 Posted June 30, 2003 If it does not matter how the items get placed in the cart - that is the firms can be mixed - then create the categories as firms, then the main categories become subs of each firm. Otherwise, you might need to look at the mall contribution
shatan Posted July 1, 2003 Author Posted July 1, 2003 the cient has to much productes to be sorted in categories ans subs. so i cant use categories as firms. i have also tried the mini-store mod (mfgmod-516.1.1) but it doesnt work with the osc, i have installed. so, where can i find the mall contribution, and i try it. thnks so long

shatan Posted July 1, 2003 Author Posted July 1, 2003 Yes, i understand that i can use multiple subs. but in this special problem, my client has 3 firms with so many categories that the list will get to long. there are about 500 and more products in each firm, sorted in 50 categories and subcategories. very complex. so i think that it was usefull to get the possibility to chose one firm to get the products of only this firm. the mini-store mod (mfgmod-516.1.1) sounds like something i?m looking for, but on the way, it doesn?t work. so i?ll try now the mall contribution. perheps its working fine. or is there an other way to split categories in two frames with viewing the subs, and subs of the subs, and so on, in an second fame??
