Guest Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 Hi all. I'm new to the ecommerce program. I was just wondering if there is some modules that we can add regarding exportation on existing comptability program like SAGE to export the database stock in the oscommerce database to synchronize but of shop? Its ridiculous for a company and the customer wont see the advantage to administrate two different shop (web store versus the street store). Tks a lot for your help :)
Daemonj Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 There is not currently anything available as you describe. You could create a script to synchronize the information between SAGE and osC on a scheduled basis (e.g. using a CRON tab). "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. Guest Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 Okay I understand that but what are the possibilities concerning the database exportations between oscommerce and SAGE for example? After this, Im agree with you when you talk about the crontab based on schedules... Did you ever use oscommerce with a customer that already had an excel database for his store? Later :)
Ingrid_hk Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 Hey Matti, congratulations! You've reached the 1000th post  Cheers! Ingrid

Daemonj Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 Did you ever use oscommerce with a customer that already had an excel database for his store? Later :) Only until I got their website using osC. Then the retail systems started accessing the website for all sales. I have one customer that has their osC setup to not take stock into account. At the end of everyday she reviews the orders received via osC and manually deducts the inventory from their package. She does it this way for two reasons: 1. The website customer's take a backseat to the in-store person. 2. She can notice trends if certain items happen to be selling well at a particular time and adjust her ordering as necessary. I hope that the above is of some help to you. "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. Guest Posted June 29, 2003 Posted June 29, 2003 Yeah you got some good points but I think that MySQLion is a good point to convince a potential customer if he wants to synchronize the database in-store and the online website... But to do this, you need to access to the database instore.... Ill think about it...
