Latest PayPal Version

Hi all, I'm using v2.3.4.1 CE (FROZEN) and am using the in-built Paypal payment method, Paypal Express (ayPal App v5.018 ). Is this the latest or most up to date version of the app? Also when testing in sandbox mode, the paypal log in screen appears, full screen once you select your payment method and click continue. It does not go to the confirmation page and then ask you to go to the Paypal server. Is this correct? I would prefer to have the Paypal screen be inside a popup instead or a full screen, anyone out there who use this know if it's possible to achieve?

Many thanks

Hi Richard,

Correct, that is the latest version.

Confirmation screen appears after paypal not before is my understanding.

No idea how to get Paypal inside a pop-up instead unfortunately.

You should see paypal as modal overlay if using paypal express.

@JcMagpie

This appears to be true only if 'In-Context' option is selected (which does not support instant update as according to the description) and the customer selects the checkout with paypal option instead of pressing the oscommerce checkout button.

Paypal express takes the customer's details from paypal - so it needs a log in at the beginning of checkout (or earlier) so the shipping can be calculated.

You can leave paypal to the end of checkout by using paypal standard, but then the customer has to key in their details themselves.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Paypal is working correctly in the way the cart is performing. I do have 'In-Context' flow enabled and also I did notice that this was depreciated. This led to my initial question of the version number for Paypal Express.

Where is the paypal option? Is this in the checkout_payment page?

The option to enable the modal is in Admin > Paypal > Configure.

The customer can opt to check out with paypal in the shopping cart page. If the customer opts to check out normally instead, the modal does not appear and the customer is taken to the full paypal screen.

Hey there mate, are you using the same version then as me? That's exactly as I'd like the paypal window to appear

Yes i use the same version paypal express. It's just set up for default setup with pay without account set to true. Been a long time since I set it up but it works just fine. Model will only work with paypal express button in cart.

This was discused in some detail here in a thread, just not able to find it again!!
