aricross Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 Arg, I seemed to have forgotten the ADMIN password to log into the administration area. I've viewed the .htaccess and.htpsswd files but it is encrypted and there is no way to see what the password is. This ADMIN password is not stored in MYPHPADMIN. How can I change or find out what the admin password is? Thanks for your help and yes...I DO feel like an idiot!
Guest Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 Hey aricross, If you have cmd line access on the server simply delete the .htpsswd file and recreate it by typing the following: htpasswd -c .htpsswd username Once you hit enter you'll be prompted to enter your password. If you dont have shell access simply contact your provider who should be able to do this within minutes. Hope this helps.
Guest Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 Good advice here: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=38287
Guest Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 Thyra, It would be *if* Aric was using the loaded snapshot or was setting the password via phpMyAdmin but he isn't. He needs to either remember the old password, create a new .htpsswd on the server (as I explained howto) or have the server admins do it. Aric.. Hope this helped. If you run into any problems re-creating the .htpsswd file let me know.
