bnguru Posted August 3, 2019 Share Posted August 3, 2019 I am trying a fresh install on my host - HostGator and can't get past the first step, setting up the database. I get the following message: There was a problem connecting to the database server. The following error had occured: Can't connect to MySQL server on '3306' (22) Please verify the connection parameters and try again. Any thoughts? I'm not even sure where to start. kgtee Posted August 3, 2019 Share Posted August 3, 2019 The OSC install process will not create a database for use by the shop. It is necessary for you to manually create a database first and assign owner/user privileges. You may do these by using the phpmyadmin or some mysql utility residing in the cpanel.
