andredub Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 I'm new into this. When I say into this I mean PHP, MYSQL, e-Commerce. Just about everything. I'm fine with HTML, STYLESHEETS but that's about it. After thinking about having an online business and looking around at my oportunites... I thought ... WOW... this is great I can download this OSCOMMERCE thing, install it, look at it and decide if I should go with it. And over that, I get to be part of this community, group of people who seems serious about it. No need to tell you what's like to install PHP, MYSQL with no real knowledge of web-technology. but I made it. Now, I get to install OSCOMMERCE and I get this message about register_global not being on. OK... no problem... I'll find this PHP.INI file and I'll set it on. But ... what do I find... BIG WARNINGS about security risks! Now... I could turn it on on my PC but what will happen once I'll want to transfer the application onto the HOST I've registered with!!! I'm sorry people... but where I stand... I can not in my own mind even consider wasting my time to find out that it won't work for me. I can not even wait to see what/when will be done about it. You know.... I'm really disapointed. Regards, Andre
