cgchris99 Posted June 27, 2003 Posted June 27, 2003 I have been checking my local banks for merchant accounts. They are offering authorize.net and telling me authorize.net has built in fraud protection. Anyone have info? Thanks
Guest Posted June 28, 2003 Posted June 28, 2003 authorizenet has basic fraud protection (as 99.9% of gateways do) for US customers they offer AVS to verify the address of the card holder, but remember that using AVS really simply means that someone can have a stolen card number and know the address of the card holder - you need to use things like forcing the user the enter the CVV number from the credit card since that number is only listed on the card and never on any transaction receipt - authnet also offers additional 'fraud' protection methods that carry an extra fee per month to use read the documentation on the authorizenet site for more info
