Hi,

I run php 4.3.1 and have no problems whatsoever.

What version of mysql are you using?

There are several posts in different threads which reference this problem. It seems to have started happening in late May or early June, after the release of PHP 4.3.2 Many hosting providers seem to have updated their versions of PHP at this time, and the problems then began. It doesn't make a difference what version of MySQL is being used -- the key is in the version of PHP.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference which version of osCommerce is being used. In our case, the site was customized starting from a version downloaded in February, 2003; thus, we are not on 2.1 or 2.2. Perhaps other folks who have the problem could report which osCommerce version they are using -- might provide a clue as to whether upgrading to the current release might help.

i run PHP 4.3.2 and have no problems.

i just installed everything for the first time:apache2.0 PHP MySQL, Perl, after been using access and ASP before. a real hassle in my opinion - all these configs that need attention in order to work together. (winXP home edition)

It might be that the PHP.ini still is set (by default) to:

register_globals = off

change this to ON and see if it helps?

Thanks for the suggestion. In our case, the hosting provider has control of PHP.INI. However, register_globals is, in fact, on.

I may load a copy of the latest snapshot on this server to see if it "behaves" differently...
