Hello,

I received an email from Amazon regarding changes required ~ Get ready for the new Payment Services Directive (PSD2) by 30 June 2019 (see below)

Does anyone know if there is going to be an oscommerce update with the required changes?

Thank you in advance.

Dear Merchant,

The Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2), which regulates payment services in Europe, has introduced Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements. SCA will require certain transactions to be authenticated by two factors. These requirements will become mandatory on 14 September 2019 and apply to all organisations in the EU that accept online payments. The requirements also apply to UK organisations on departure from the EU. On this date, card transactions that are not authenticated might be declined by the issuing bank.

As part of a series of key checkout enhancements we are making to Amazon Pay this year, today we are introducing functionality that enables you to show authentication challenges to your customers. This new functionality requires you to update your Amazon Pay integration to ensure that you can continue processing transactions when SCA becomes mandatory.

Here’s what you need to do. According to our records, you are using a custom integration of Amazon Pay. This means you will need to update your Amazon Pay solution by applying code changes as described in the Amazon Pay SCA Upgrade integration guide. We have updated our Software Development Kits (SDKs) to support your developers with these changes.

Get started now. Everything you need is already available, so you can start immediately. To ensure that you are fully ready before the 14 September 2019 deadline, we recommend that you complete these changes as soon as possible. To make sure you are prepared well ahead of the deadline, we recommend that you complete these changes by 30 June 2019.

For more information, visit the PSD2 and SCA page on our website. If you have additional questions or need further integration support, our merchant support team is available to help.

Kind regards,
The Amazon Pay team
