customising the order form and other features

Hi,

This is my first post and i have only looked at osCommerce briefly but it seems to have the right idea.

 

I was wondering about the customisation flexibility and limitations. i.e.

 

1.can you customise the order form to collect all the address and card details on one page and integrate that with the payment provider.

 

If a designer was to hand over html templates with placeholders for the dynamic info - does OSC have a load of code in the html or tags that you can plce where you need to . If so where do i find out what they do etc.

 

I'm not too shabby with php etc, but what's the best way to learn the system seeing as there is not much ducumentation (apart from this forum of course).
