Paypal Standard Suddenly Displaying Errors?

When a customer is attempting to pay, Paypal standard has been showing an error such as" try again later". This error shows on the Paypal checkout page after customer submits the credit card information and their delivery information.

Version: OSC 2.3.1 and recently upgraded to PHP 7.1 from PHP 5.6

Is there something wrong here? Was there a recent update in something either with PHP,  or Paypal transactions from OSC Paypal standard module?

You're trying to run osC 2.3.1 (which is ancient) on PHP 7.1? I wouldn't be at all surprised that something is breaking (and probably not just PayPal). I'm surprised it ran at PHP 5.6. The only out-of-the-box osC versions that work on PHP 7.1 are 2.3.4.1BS "Frozen" and 2.3.4.1 "Edge". Roll back to PHP 5.6 if you can, so you can at least run your store, and start making plans to upgrade to "Frozen" as soon as possible.
