How to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.2

I've noticed that you can choose to upgrade when you attempt to install the 2.2.

 

You actually have an option to upgrade.

 

Now perhaps many people have customized thier 2.1 and hence affraid of upgrade since I personally am not sure what components are upgraded.

 

So here is the questions.

 

In order to upgrade to 2.2 from 2.1 are there any steps to do that manually?
