wont show on web

I can get to my admin and my catalog on the web by typing:

http:www.mydomain.com/catalog

http:www.mydomain.com/catalog/admin

 

But when i type into my browser:

http:www.mydomain.com

 

I get:

 

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

 

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request

 

Can someone please help

A long shot here, but in your domain.com root directory do you have an index.htm index.html or index.php file? Make sure there are no capital letters in those either.

I did not have an index file in my root (Public_HTML). I put a blank index.htm file in my root, now when i type in my address on the web it comes up blank............Please help
