Questions regarding Peter McGrath's template system

I recently downloaded and installed Peter McGrath's template system. I was wondering how will his variation integrate with future OSC upgrades and releases? Will I be dependent upon Peter's releases? If not what would be the process of integration? Will I be forced to 'hack' in future OSC releases?

Study his system for a bit and you will see that integrations are fairly straightforward.
