Tecumseh Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 Hi, I'm trying to clean up and make my site more efficient. As a novice, I created a record for every item and every size. ie: Record 1. Leather Jacket Size Small Model LJ-S ljs.jpg $99.95 Record 2. Leather Jacket Size Medium Model LJ-M ljm.jpg $99.95 Record 3. Leather Jacket Size Large Model LJ-L ljk.jpg $99.95 Record 4. Leather Jacket Size XLarge Model LJ-XL ljxl.jpg $99.95 Record 5. Leather Jacket Size 2XL Model LJ-2X lj2x.jpg $104.95 ... ... ... Problem is, a lot of my pictures are redundant (they are the same pictures with different names to satisfy a one pic for every item). And not only this, the site looks like crap this way. For example, http://netfrog.ca/default.php/cPath/14_116 I want to be able to have one record that displays a product with only one picture (or multiple "different" pictures) with the attribute drop down list for size, cost and model number. Once a customer picks a size, a product code and price is assigned accordingly. ie: Record 1. Leather Jacket ljs.jpg Attribute - Size Small --> Model LJ-S $99.95 Attribute - Size Medium --> Model LJ-M $99.95 Attribute - Size Large --> Model LJ-L $99.95 Attribute - Size XLarge --> Model LJ-XL $99.95 Attribute - Size 2XL --> Model LJ-2X $99.95 Record 2. ...... I know that there's probably a contribution or many forum discussions here about this but I haven't been able to locate it. Found many variations but not exactly what I'm looking for. Also have to bear in mind inventory quantities for each attribute as well. Can't have a customer ordering something out of stock if possible. Hope you can help me ... Thanks, Dave http://www.netfrog.ca Make it your next Internet hop!
cgchris99 Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 There isn't a way to have the model number change based on the attribute selected. There are a lot of people that need this including myself. However, I haven't seen anyone try to tackle it yet. If you find a solution, please post it.
