Testing OScommerce on windows

As i am new to all this i would like to get to know oscommerce first before getting a server and placing it on the web is there software i could download to allow me to set up oscommerce on my windows pc like webserver software i am using Windows Xp

Try the phpdev package from http://www.firepages.com.au. Click 'phpdev bundles' under Downloads, then go for phpdev423. I use this on 2 machines running XP with no problems.
