Can I get a merchant account for under $30/month in fees?

I currently use 2checkout.com but the 5.5% is killing me.

I have been checking out wells fargo, merchantIPS, 1stamericancardservices, nova, Echo, etc.

I feel like I need my lawyer just to figure out how much this stuff costs.

Without Transaction fees and the % rate, can I get a merchant account that uses authorize.net for less than $30/month. MerchantIPS is the only one that doesn't seem to have a bunch of hidden fees. So they come in at $29.95/month But their % rate and trans fee is not the best I have seen. Their 2.35% & .35cents per trans.

Wells fargo, I can't find their rates on their website. But another page showed them at $39 but didn't tell what the gateway fee and statement fee were.

It really seems to me that these merchant accounts are purposely trying to hide charges and deceive the client.

Like every other company does. This is the corporate S.O.P.

I'd love for people to post what there experience is with merchant accounts. Our store is not active yet; Someone else in our office setup linkpoint but I have yet to get all the details on what it costs.

Hello,

I've had good experience with ECHO. It's a reliable company. Rates are competitive compare to other merchant providers.

The implementation with ECHO was a lilttle bumpy since they are very picky on what you put on your website regardig returns and shipping policies.

I was sold on their services because I'm not particularly fond of minimum charges and gateway fees.

Best Wishes!

This is because there are actually listed shipping and return policies listed by the Credit Card companies themselves. These are in place to protect you against chargebacks. If you follow the rules to a "T" and document everything properly including delivery confirmation by the shipper, you should never lose a chargeback.
