Guest Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 Ok, so these are not my stores, but I have not seen them on here before. Thought they might brighten the place up a little. Plus I think they are great! Anyone know the people that did these, as I would like a site very similar to these. http://www.casetech.co.uk/index.php http://www.aaronix.com How much work do you think is involved in getting a standard oscommerce site to the stages of these sites? ThnkQ
Guest Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 How long depends on the skill of the designer coder - any where from a few hours to a month. The time is likely to be in populatin the products in the database. Both sites have had a lot of work on them but still look fairly similar to the default OSC site. (BTW they should have mention of osCommerce to be posted here)
Guest Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 The reason you did not see them here is probably because they dont have the powered by oscommerce link on their site and it is a requirement to post here. The_Bear
Guest Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 that's really new. I never read this before that you need to put powered by OSCommerce
Guest Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 that's really new. I never read this before that you need to put powered by OSCommerce  As new as June 2002 - see the sticky atthe top of this forum, that everyone is supposed to read before posting. Plus about 40% of posters here are reminded of this on a near daily basis. I guess if you've written the software and set up and run these forums, you are entitled to make the rules!
Arpit Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 haha i can buy 1.2 product...go to your shopping cart contents page, and type in 1.2 or any number with decimal in the qty. and press update, you will see what i mean.... if you need help lemme know  The late twentieth century has witnessed a remarkable growth in scientific interest in the subject of extinction ---------------------------------------------------- Arpit
Guest Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 argh, scan readers dont you just love them... Read above, these arnt my sites. So I am not bothered if you can buy 1.2 products or not tbh. But on your point, I am sure they wont be selling 1.2 products anyway as it is humanly impossible to do so. I cant see a large number of people ordering 1.2 products anyhoo... Soz, never read about the powered by bit. Should have noticed tho, as ppl seem more bothered about pointing that out than even commenting on sites. Bit pissy if you ask me.
Arpit Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 hahah what were ya an english major? all i was tryin 2 do is help someone not have any unwanted transactions.... peace The late twentieth century has witnessed a remarkable growth in scientific interest in the subject of extinction ---------------------------------------------------- Arpit
alverman Posted June 20, 2003 Posted June 20, 2003 What about: floor($products[$i]['quantity']) or round($products[$i]['quantity']) or something like that in shopping_cart.php line 145 ? bizarre situation ........
dasalnt Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 does anyone know how on the casetech.co.uk site they were able to give a brief description of the product in the featured products section on the main page?
Guest Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1299 This will do something like that
dasalnt Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 i checked out the contribution you posted but it seems like it isnt for the featured products part, its for the just the regular product listings, if i'm wrong, please let me know. If you know a site that uses this mod that would be great too, thanks!
