ok I tried searching on this topic, but aparently I don't know how to search for something that is more than one word and actually have good results.

My questions are;

1. is there such thing as a test mode for os commerce? if so how do I switch from live to test and then back to test?

2. How do I search this forum for a topic with two words, such as "test mode" ? Do I type "test AND mode" or what?

Don't mean to ask basic questions, but we all have to start somewhere don't we?

Thank You!! :-)

If the warning on the first page isn't enough, yYou can disable all of your payment methods, I guess, which would work until you needed to test them. Also, there is a new contribution that will allow you no not let anyone checkout until you have approved them. For a brand new shop, that might solve your problem.

Well, you could select the "search for all words" radio button on the search page. But the search is still a little tricky. Try using the "*" for common words.

for example, searching for -> products <- gives you nothing becasue it returns too many results. However searching for -> products* <- for some reason works alot better.

Best of luck.

My merchant account provider is Cardservices Int. (Linkpoint)

According to them,

I have been getting charged the transaction fee for the test transactions because my shoping cart is in live mode even though Linkpoint is in test mode.

How do I change the osC "shopping cart" to test mode so I can actually send test transactions?

If I disable the Linkpoint module, I can't send test transactions.

????

Thanks!

There is not way to place all of OSC into test mode, and still be able to process an order to test your process.

In your Linkpoint payment module, is there an option to place that module in 'test mode'? There are in most all of the other payment modules.

If not, ask linkoint if they can provide you with a credit card number that you can use for testing purposes. If your linkpoint account is in 'test mode' then they really should not be charging you anything, in my opinion.

I'm not sure what version of the linkpoint payment module you use if want to checkout the version I use here are the files just update the paths.

This comes from thefinnisher, and all the other linkpoint contribs that came before it, with a few more things added in there, the code seems to work well but like many other things it does not come with any promises of being good for anything.

Also this comes with a fixed version of the linkpoint API module that you can download from linkpoint that fixed an error with the szip field not working, you could just add you store#.PEM file and this should work, also change the language file for whatever CCs you take, Visa, MC, AMEX it's set to show what my linkpoint account is set to accept Visa & MC.

The settings you probably want are LinkPoint authorization mode:Pre-authorization.

Once you make this change you will need to finish each transaction in your linkpointcentral screen so you get paid.

Also you should set the LinkPoint email and you will get an email like this for each order:

Reference number: x.x.x.x-1056253893-999-1200216-6

AVSCode: 0123456789123456:YNAM:01234567890123412345678:

Address: Matches address on file

Zip code: Does not match zipcode on file

Card security code: Matches cardcode on file

Order #:xx

Middle Credit Card Numbers: 11111111

Extra info I added is in RED, I'm going to add this to the order database but for now I just stuck it in the extra email.
