Guest Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 I hope you like Salsa... http://www.ugottasalsa.com I kept the look and layout simple. Added MANY mods! Okay I'm ready... lay it on me. Let me know if you have any questions, problems or verbal abuse of any sort. BTW... this is a Live Shop... please don't place any orders unless you are ready to pay for them. Thanks in advance. -R
Freedom Fighter Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Very nice.. Is that you on the main page? :) Extreme Alterations
Guest Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Nope... She's my girlfriend. Thanks for the compliment. -R
Freedom Fighter Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Cool! You have nice taste ;) I can't complain about the store.. It's well layed out, right to the point, and quick load time.. What more could a customer want? Extreme Alterations
Guest Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Very nicely themed conversion - a few small points: The statement in header.php "If you encounter... bla... click here" is not a link and above are 5 different links. A bit confusing, especially if someone is having problems already. The buttons don't particularly match the style of the rest of the site -cartoony. "For security purposes, your behavior is recorded" is a bit scarey. I was on my best behaviour though. " Kid's Gear " should be " Kids' Gear " if it's for more than one kid.
Guest Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Superb theme and content. Colors matching well. get you a clear nine out of ten :) Ren
loxly Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Randy, Awesome! Which news contrib are you using? I understand why you have the cartoons, salsa is FUN but the comment above is right, they just don't go with the rest of the theme. What gallery software are you planning to use? And Ren, cats are a wonderful thing, and so are most cat people.... http://coolcatsites.net Meow! [no external urls in signatures please, kthanks]
Guest Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Thanks to all that have commented... And yes... I have fixed the "problems" link at the top. Thanks... I forgot that one. As for the buttons in the Header... yeah... they are a bit cartoonish... but I couldn't find anything else that I really liked that meshed into the layout and color scheme. Plus... I kinda like them. Loxly... The news contrib is "Latest News 1.1.0" by Will Mays. I haven't decided which Gallery software to use yet. I was thinking of trying the Gallery Integrated contrib. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. Thanks again! -R
loxly Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 I haven't tried that one yet, does your server have safe mode on or off? [no external urls in signatures please, kthanks]
Guest Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Randy, Super site! It looks great! The only suggestion I have is to fix the account sign up page so that the address format is US....There is a contrib that does it.
Guest Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Oh! One other thing...The red asterisks on the account sign up should be explained as * required information.
Guest Posted June 18, 2003 Posted June 18, 2003 Hi Kim... Thanks for the kind words... and the suggestions. I have added a "* required" as you suggested to the Account Signup page. Where can I fnd the US format contrib you spoke about? Let me know. -R
chain Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Hey! Nice Site... Looks really good. http://comp-shop.pricegrabber.com/ http://www.celore.com/ http://www.comp-shop.com/
Sortii Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Very nice, I'd lose the power by osCommerce MS2 CVS thing I think just the name will do, no need to tell people the exact version you are running http://www.ugottasalsa.com/default.php?cPath=28 is giving: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax near 's & more')' at line 1 insert into user_tracking (customer_id, full_name, session_id, ip_address, time_entry, time_last_click, last_page_url, page_desc) values ('', 'Guest', '4f104efa0cb20e31d6bce3ac2dd4a4b8', 'xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx', '1055994117', '1055994117', '/default.php?cPath=28', 'Music, CD's & more') [TEP STOP] I think there is a php setting to turn the errors reporting off Very nice site I hope it does well, I'd like to know what contribs you used on it.
loxly Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Actually, in some of the other open source software I use it is common practice to include the version and the BUILD in the footer, so everyone knows exactly what you have, including yourself! Instead of dating every release, they are known as xyzsoftware 1.2.3 B12 It helps in the constantly moving world of open source. [no external urls in signatures please, kthanks]
Sortii Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Ok, well I guess the reason I said that is for security lets say there is a bug found in some version of oscommerce, where you can get in and buy stuff for free or something like.
loxly Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Chances are if that happens people would upgrade and fix it..... [no external urls in signatures please, kthanks]
Guest Posted June 19, 2003 Posted June 19, 2003 Nice site - great design.. Just a teensy weensy small point - Sponsered Link - is that how you wanted to spell "sponsored" ... :D Great site, hope it goes well. BrianD
