per4mer Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 Hello everybody, I uploaded my site to an webhosting service but this unfortunately doesn't support sendmail. I have no access to the php.ini, of course. IS there any other possibility to setup my e-mail settings for my store eg. with another free smtp/sendmail service...have I to write a new function? Can somebody help me?
orchard Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 Have you tried the SMTP option instead of sendmail? In olden times the men were made of iron and the ships were made of wood; now it's the other way around.
per4mer Posted June 17, 2003 Author Posted June 17, 2003 yes, i have tried both ...but it is not working :( The webhosting service has disabled the sendmail in php.ini and smtp is also not working :( what can I do?
mdfst13 Posted June 17, 2003 Posted June 17, 2003 What are you using as your SMTP server? Remember that you have to authorize to attach to it somehow (otherwise it would be an open relay and spammers would crash it soon enough). Good luck, Matt I love deadlines. orchard Posted June 17, 2003 Posted June 17, 2003 Your host may require you to check your POP box just before using the SMTP server. In olden times the men were made of iron and the ships were made of wood; now it's the other way around.
per4mer Posted June 17, 2003 Author Posted June 17, 2003 I want to use (from http://www.bluebottle.com ): smtp server: bm01.bluebottle.com With username: [email protected] and your password. You can send emails via their SMTP server. As far as I know there is no limit. But I can't setup it, if I have no access to the php.ini?!?!?!????
