glenda Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 Hello :!: I need to allow credit card or paypal checkout only on orders up to a certain amount. This is because of the liability associated with LARGE fradulent credit card payments. We sell a lot of inexpensive odds and ends but some of our products can cost upwards of $10,000. Any ideas :?: Thanks :D Mary
Guest Posted June 16, 2003 Posted June 16, 2003 Glenda, By limiting how someone can pay, there will be many potential customers that will simply not buy. Instead, I would suggest making sure that you get the CVV code on the CC to start with. There is a contribution for this if you aren't already using it. Also most CC companies require a signature on a sales slip or invoice for purchases over a certain amount (mine is $500). We do that by fax. Yes, that adds a couple of steps on your end but, it will help cut down on fraudulent transactions. Talk to your merchant account provider and see what other suggestions they have for reducing fraud.
