The SID killer is working. If it wasn't you would see a long variable in the URL something like oSid="ar9203vjlsd9r8q29948934p5602kj3r"

In general on the internet, using ALL CAPS to post is considered shouting and is considered rude. A certain number of people would have looked at your original post and thought, "Oh, a SHOUTer. I'll move along without actually reading now." Wizardandwars was helpfully, albeit tersely, suggesting that you might get more of a response in the future if you post with normal capitalization. As for how to know if everything is working, I would say that this depends on you. Is the store functioning the way you want? If you put through a test order, does everything work?

As someone else mentioned, the SID (Session ID) killer gets rid of the part of the URL that says someting like OSCsid=whole*bunch*of*junk. If you do not have those in your URL when you log in to your store, then it is working.

People who rudely whine about CAPS LOCK without helping you generally imo are prima donas who you wouldn't want to deal with any way...

Obviously they are just way too smart for and superior to anyone who dares uses all CAPS in a post..

Than again, I suppose something could be written about people who write responses like the one I just gave..

Hi Julian;

Your META are in your pages code, that is OK.

I copied some at the end of this message.

But there is a problem with the All Products - SID Killer mods because you wanted to show the All Products page to your customers and you placed a link in the categories box.

The problem happens only if your customer set his browser to block the cookies.

Here's what I did (with cookies blocked):

- go to your web site

- in featured products, click on one item: I LOVE MOMMY & DADDY BASKET

- still no SID which is good: the adress looks like

http://www.traderscart.com/product_info.php?products_id=42

- click on add to cart, then the page reloads, the adress becomes:

http://www.traderscart.com/shopping_cart.php?

osCsid=be1b23d96ceb1e6a21a2e0442c8c2b7a

there is now a SID which is expected

and the item is displayed in red in the cart, good.

- click on View All Products in the Categories box:

the osCsid is still here and the I LOVE MOMMY & DADDY BASKET item is still in the cart OK

- click on an item: BAR898HGA Wireless Weather Station

and bad news: the SID disapeared from the adress

and very bad news: the cart is empty !

Here's one problem and one solution

My Problem : Yeah, Ian's SID killer code is fine, but *Change Buy Now Button to Forms* is a problem ... products don't get added to shopping cart from the product listing pages. At least in the MS2 of osC 2.2. Is anyone having a solution to this?

My Solution (to the issue in this thread): You say that SID gets added from page http://www.traderscart.com/product_info.php?products_id=42 (when it goes to shopping cart) right?

Well, try seflt contribution and this should be resolved.

Well, try seflt contribution and this should be resolved.

The SID gets added in the address when the browser has cookies turned off is not a problem if I understand SID Killer correctly: only a customer can add to the shopping cart (Google cannot), therefore the SID is hugly but not dangerous !

The problem here is that the SID will disapear if the customers pass thru All Products and click on a link !

The result of this problem will be that the cart will then be empty !

A question about the seflt contribution: if you use it, do you still need the SID Killer ?
