are there any help files, guidelines, ground rules?

An osCom newbie question. I was looking into using oscommerce

for a client but there is no payment module for his payment

company Multicards.com. I have workable knowledge of Php so

thought I'd look into making a module.

 

Only thing is I have searched the site and installation for help

files or guidelines as to how and go about it but can't find any.

Surely there must be some if all sorts of people are contributing

to the development of the software.

 

Is it because I is thick and missing somthing or there are none?
