arc Posted June 12, 2003 Posted June 12, 2003 hi, i was wondering how to delete all products in a category at once? right now i'm manually going thro each product and deleting them. tedious. =) i guess i could delete the category? and then add the category again? but does that actually delete the products or leave them as orphans? Thanks, Johnny
Guest Posted June 12, 2003 Posted June 12, 2003 That's the only easy way i know of. If you are any good w/ mysql, you could write a quick querry to do it (one line). unfortunately I am not, but it can't be that hard.
arc Posted June 12, 2003 Author Posted June 12, 2003 thanks. but that method will also delete the prooducts right? it wont' leave products in my database w/o a category? thanks, johnny
Guest Posted June 12, 2003 Posted June 12, 2003 So you want to CHANGE the product's category OR just REMOVE the category and keep the products (w/ no category)? If you want to change the category for a bunch of products then try EASYPOPULATE contribution. It may even remove categories, i'm not sure.
arc Posted June 13, 2003 Author Posted June 13, 2003 i actually want to remove the products but keep the category. :D
arc Posted June 13, 2003 Author Posted June 13, 2003 to clarify, the products i am selling are unique. so if i sell one, it's gone forever. i usually do them in batches (sell them all..and if not, remove it from the site and upload them again). it's tedious to delete each product each time. thanks!
Guest Posted June 13, 2003 Posted June 13, 2003 Best way I know , delete the catagorie, then go back to top and recreate the catagorie, the products will be gone, will except for the images. But they won't show up unless you link back to them. If you want to get rid of the images you have to delete them one by one
arc Posted June 14, 2003 Author Posted June 14, 2003 thanks. having orphan pictures won't be that big of a deal. i was just afraid that after awhile, i would have alot of orphans in the database. thanks again, johnny
