OSC, SSI & Root Level?????

I am looking to use osc, my tech will be the one working directly with it but I wil be hosting my site with [EDIT: pm the guy if curious] , they include the Miva shopping cart with their hosting plan, but I want to use osc however I was told by them to ask if osc would require any Server Side Includes or Root Level Access, because if it does then I cant use it due to that it has to be "client side" only...I dont know what any of that means, but with that in mind will I be able to upload it to the server?

 

I dont know much about shopping carts, but I know this one is open source that is why I want to use it, but why would I want to use osc over Miva Merchant which would be included in the hosting plan?

Anyways....as long as they offer PHP and mySQL you should be fine. I couldn't see that they had PHP but I'd be surprised if they didn't (I didn't stick around long enough to find out after seeing their prices :wink: )
