Kristofor Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 get rid of your whos online contribution, then download the latest one and install it, Don't die with the music in you!!! Failure is just another boundary to sucess!!! But that doesn't mean your getting somewhere...
carloshax Posted June 10, 2003 Author Posted June 10, 2003 No alterations have been done to who's online it is just how it came when site was installed llast febuary so how do i go about removing and installing an uptodate one. i deleted who's online.php from admin but what else do i need to do Thanks CARL
Kristofor Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 well you must know how you installed, you just do the exact reverse of how you installed it, by doing that you have effectively stopped osc, from calling whos online therefore eliminating your problem Don't die with the music in you!!! Failure is just another boundary to sucess!!! But that doesn't mean your getting somewhere...
carloshax Posted June 10, 2003 Author Posted June 10, 2003 I solved the problem thanks, i will just say how i solved it incase anyone else has this problem. If was an error on the whos online database table, mysql error. what i did was delete the "whos online" table and add an exported table from a different store. Solved the problem straight away. It would be nice to know what caused the problem but atleast it's fixed. I get about 22,000 hits aday and could have done with out this especially being a n00b to php. Thanks for your help Kristofor
Guest Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 It would be nice to know what caused the problem but atleast it's fixed. Well gee.... the same question has been asked so many times in the past... perhaps a quick search instead of your message of panic would have been more appropriate? I think *that* is what you did in the end anyway... the answer is easily found...
carloshax Posted June 10, 2003 Author Posted June 10, 2003 oooooooo someones on edge arn't they, i did a search b4 posting in here but didn't come up with anything that i felt would help. I found the problem because another friend said it sounded like a database error. I thought everyone here was helpful and polite, dont think there was any need for your comment. Not everyone is a php genius and this place is for sharing your knowledge not your abuse. Sorry if this offends anyone else
Guest Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 dont think there was any need for your comment. I don't make my comments according to what you think... but rather what I do.... Edgy?... not in the slightest!
Kristofor Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 hehehe, searching hey, but with some 6000 posts in this forum at least, searching can prove difficult, Don't die with the music in you!!! Failure is just another boundary to sucess!!! But that doesn't mean your getting somewhere...
Guest Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 Gee... I just typed 'MYI' into the search box and found aplenty dealing with just this error... 6000 posts?.... probably throw away 30% as duplicates of questions that have been answered
Kristofor Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 hehehe, thats true, thing is the problems that get answered seem to be the ones asked all the time, not the ones that dont get asked much, i wish people would look at my stuff, hehehe, Don't die with the music in you!!! Failure is just another boundary to sucess!!! But that doesn't mean your getting somewhere...
Guest Posted June 10, 2003 Posted June 10, 2003 True.... I just anwswered one that used to be damnable if you dared ask it! ...... but I hadn't seen it asked for quite some time so I answered... this makes it easier when people search... Now... I shall see if I can help anything of yours that remains unanswered... :D
