Guest Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 Please help! I want to avoid using prefix pricing....you know, the base amount +x amount more per more expensive product? http://www.norcalfreedive.com/catalog/prod...&products_id=69 What I need to sell is a single product with different prices based on the product's attributes (mainly size). As I don't want customers to have to add the base price to the prefix (+) prices, how do I allow for different product prices within one single product listing??? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as this is a second post. Thanks! Aaron
Midnght Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 Sure the easy answer. Set the initial price at $0.00 That will work looks funky but will work. Perhaps if ya revamp the code a bit you can simple remove the intiial price especially if you never intend to use the initial price. Also just remove the + prefix as well. This is the easy method. Simple solutions for simple questions. }:>)
Guest Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 Hi Michael, that was one thing I tried, but you're right, it looked weird. The product then displays as 0.00 which is a problem on the initial listing page and the product detail page. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything...so the prefix pricing is just the "way it works"? I don't know the first thing about tweaking code, but this site is running OSC and dealt with it somehow. Just wondered if it was a custom job or possible from the "stock" version. http://www.picassoamerica.com/catalog/prod...products_id=108 Thanks very much for your reply. Aaron
Midnght Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 Not having tried this myself. Give this a whirl it might be just what you need. http://wiki.oscommerce.com/helpHowtoRemove...veCatalogPrices
Midnght Posted June 9, 2003 Posted June 9, 2003 Well i tried this mod and it does work kind'a it removes the price but it also remvoes the price form a lot of other areas. So it's far from perfect. What I think you really want is the ability to set that additonal price field as the price overiding the default price.
