Qacer Posted June 7, 2003 Posted June 7, 2003 Hello all, I'm trying to figure out how to charge only users from Florida a 7% state tax when they order. I can't seem to get the tax feature to work. When I select Taxable Goods for the product, it automatically adds tax to it even though the person ordering may not be from Florida. How do I implement this feature? Thanks!
hankfrid Posted June 7, 2003 Posted June 7, 2003 You have to make sure that all things are set up properly in your Admin for Taxes. I started by deleting existing tax zones. Then you would add tax zone "FL" and select "United States" and "Florida" spelled out within that FL tax zone entry. Then on your Tax Class you probably already have "Taxable Goods". Then on your Tax Rate, select the Taxable Goods class, the FL zone (not Florida) and put in your rate. I think that should do it. Let me know how that works. Like I said, I deleted everything in Tax zones first. Make sure when you add the FL tax zone that you go back in and re-select it (it's like a two level thing) to get the drop down boxes to select United States and Florida.
