Images in their own folders?

I'm having problems getting OSC to call up images from their own folders. I know of the example given on the Wiki site (useful info!) and it should go like this:

Example: You have an image named movie.jpg in the hardware category in:

C:oscommercecatalogimagesdvdmovie.jpg

In admin, it will look like:

C:oscommercecatalogimagesdvd/movie.jpg

and in catalog you will see

dvd/movie.jpg

I'm working on a Macintosh in Netscape (tried Explorer, and it just messed things up), and when I'm putting up items in the catalog and link to them, it looks like this:

WriteWrite:My Stuff:ADE web site 7-10-02:OSCommerce:catalog:images:cz:pink1.jpg

As you can see, there are no slashes at all. When I try to insert slashes, I either get a broken link, or error messages that it can't upload the image (I was going to copy and paste the exact error message, but I can't seem to duplicate it tonight,, and my brain is shorting out after such a long day at work).

Yes, I uploaded the images in the proper folder first, and I have that echoed on my harddrive. I am suppose to be doing this in the "Products Image" box, right? Any suggestions?

I don't know if this helps, but I've always had trouble FTP'ing my files into the normal image folder and then just keying in the name in the product-image box in Admin. But if I don't FTP the image, and click on Browse in the image area for adding a product and then select the image from my harddrive and let osc pull it, it always seems to work fine.

But that probably doesn't help you with you wanting them in different folders.

If I build it...they will come.

If I don't try to build it.....I will never know!
